Demagogy to approach rising prices
The President of Romania Traian Basescu is to talk to the leaders of the parliamentary parties about the rise of food and fuel prices in order to reach solutions to attenuate the impact of it on the disfavored social categories. The electoral nature of this initiative is very visible, since Presidency Administration has got no means to settle the price rising. On the other hand, the political parties are competing in promises, since 2008 is a year of elections....

Everything is more expensive starting today
So we are facing a price rising again. Gases, electricity, food and even bank interests are getting more expensive. The oil price is growing both in the world and in Romania. And it is effecting on the prices of all the other services and products. The new first car matriculation fee is in force starting today too.
Gases are now 12, 5% more expensive on an average and in they are likely to reach even higher in October. (...)

Voronin voices accusation against Romania again
According to Deutsche Welle, the Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin has once again accused Romania of "continuing the destructive action against the Moldovan Republic and financing pro-Romanian nationalists against the latter".
The ex Soviet militia general has added that Bucharest authorities are still granting Romanian passports to the Romanians in the Moldovan Republic and trying to support their relations with the EU.
