The Cluj group's (self) isolation
-- In thee two years since the promising congress held in April 2005, when the PSD (Social-Democrat Party) seemed to aspire to change its worn out face, things have had a negative evolution for the so-called reform makers. The social-democrat structures' resistance to chance has been above expectations. And there were also strategy mistakes, which Rus, Dancu and Puscas will have to take responsibility for sooner or later.

Whitener heads CNSAS
Ladislau Csendes was elected to head the CNSAS (National Council for Research on the Communist Secret Service Archive). A member of the UDMR (Democrat Union of Magyars in Romania), he is the man who gave a hand so that Corneliu Vadim Tudor's past, that is his collaboration with the ex Securitate (Communist Secret Service in Romania), would be laundered.

Marko Bela dumps government to save UDMR
Romanian vice PM Marko Bela, also a president of the UDMR (Democrat Union of Magyars in Romania), resigned yesterday to prevent his group's failure in the future elections and also because of the outcome of the referendum meant to dismiss the president of Romania Traian Basescu.

Theoretical agreement on uninominal vote
The commission in charge of elaborating the Electoral Code agreed yesterday, theoretically, that Romanian citizens should elect the future MPs one by one, and no longer by voting for whole party lists.
