Apology of powerlessness and discrimination
PM Tariceanu mocked a Romanian woman whose house had been damaged by the floods, claiming she wanted authorities to build "a hotel" for her to live in. Lucian Bolcas, a MP from the "Greater Romania" Party and also a vice president of the Chamber of Deputies, thinks Laura Codruta Kovesi, a general attorney of Romania, is "amazingly stupid". Everyone threatens government
Romanian President Traian Basescu is to meet with parliamentary party heads next Monday, in an attempt to establish a different parliamentary majority. The PSD (Social-Democrat Party) is the key element due to the largest representation in the Parliament. But the party has got few choices to make because of the "directions from Brussels", forbidding talks with the PD (Democrat Party).

Ukrainian communists to build church on Insula Serpilor
Kiev officials continue making plans for Insula Serpilor (Snakes Island), although the continental plateau around the island is the issue at stake in a Romania vs. Ukraine lawsuit. Deputies representing the Party of Regions in the Odessa Regional Council in Ukraine intend to build an indestructible Orthodox Church on the island this year.

Duty free shops at Romania's borders with non EU states may open again. The legislation allowing such shops came into force yesterday, the Ministry of Economy informs. (...)

Prisons for priests
Clergymen who make mistakes in their profession are sent to secluded monasteries for penitence. It is the bishop who decides on the location for punishment.
