The choice for Liberal Varujan Vosganian to become a EU Commissioner is what ZIUA anticipated in October 21, betting on the Liberal senator. Our assumption was that he fitted the general portrait of an EU commissioner bet.

The Romanian government recommended yesterday that Romanian senator Varujan Vosganian should become an EU commissioner. It was PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu who made the announcement yesterday, in the opening of Executive members' meeting. In the morning the PM had talked to the President of Romania Traian Basescu and to the leaders of the Democrat Party.

Suspended defense minister resigned
Liberal Teodor Atanasiu, the suspended defense minister, announced his resignation yesterday at Victoria Palace, in the very Day of the Army. The President of Romania Traian Basescu had suspended him 44 days before.

Government consents to national security laws
The Romanian government consented in yesterday's meeting to the new national security law projects, after having postponed such a decision several times, as the Ministry of Justice hadn't approved of the projects.
