Domnule Horvath, imi pare rau ca trebuie sa va spun lucruri neplacute. Mesajul dumneavoastra suna foarte straniu, parca ati fi un elev care turuie o lectie. Totul e straniu, de la engleza dumneavoastra (de un nivel functional, ca sa zic asa, in nici un caz limba engleza pe care o astept de la un artist), pana la faptul ca, asa roman cum va simtiti, nu ati incercat sa scrieti ceva in romaneste. Pareti un extraterestru, domnule. Cat priveste atitudinea anti-culturala si anti-romaneasca a domnului Patapievici, sunteti chiar comic. Eu vad rezultatele excelente pe care le are ICR-ul de cand cu noua conducere si n-am de ce sa cred ca la NY nu s-ar intampla la fel. Ba chiar am vazut ecouri foarte bune in presa despre un festival de film romanesc la NY care a fost un real succes. V-as ruga sa-mi spuneti, in calitatea dv. de artist si de roman, in ce consta politica antiromaneasca pe care o duce ICR NY. Dar, va rog, excludeti-va pe dv. din povestire, pentru a fi mai credibil.

Answer to Ginuta's question

I want to add one more thing. You asked me why I wrote my comment in English, not in Romanian language. Because this is very important matter and I wrote in English so that other europeans, americans and japanese can read it. I want to everybody to know about it. If Romania enters in the civilized world, their authorities have to behave civilized. The image of Romania is important for me and for everybody. Thank you again for your attention.

My name is Robert Horvath. I graduated from Institutul de Arta Teatrala si Cinematografica Bucuresti and worked at main film studios and at Romanian TV. I had problems with "securitate" and I left Romania to USA in 1977. I have a film & photo studio in New York with my Japanese wife, Kiyoko now and I am also a fine artist known as "Deva". And I have nothing to do "Ziua" newspaper. It's true that I am American now, but I strongly feel that I am Romanian. Since we have strong opinion against activities in ICR-NY and Mr. Patapievici's anti-Romanian and anti-culture policy, they don't let us to participate at any events of ICR-NY. This is how scandal has started and we hope when Mr. Patapievici's and ICR director Ms. Suteu's resign will be the end. First time Romanian community in New York is united and we will pursue this goal.

domnul Deva de NY

Si, de fapt, in ce a constat scandalul? chiar a fost un scandal? sau e doar un titlu care vrea sa atraga atentia cu orice pret?

si dumneavoastra, domnule Deva, sunteti american? sau de ce ne scrieti in limba engleza? nu pareti inocent deloc, domnule, am asa o vaga impresie ca aveti o misiune foarte importanta la ICR New York; si ce intamplare ca ati picat exact pe articolul asta, in Ziua, chiar dumneavoastra care ati fost acolo... sau sunteti corespondentul ziarului Ziua la New York; spuneti-ne mai multe despre dumneavoastra, ca pe mine una m-ati facut curioasa; cum v-ati dus dumneavoastra acolo, insetat de cultura romana (desi nu stiti romaneste, se pare), si cum ati fost cotonogit de politie... foarte interesant, domnule; cu ce v-ati ocupat inainte de '89? tot cu... ?

Scandal at ICR-NY on March 19th

This article above related just a half story at the night of Mr. Ungreanu's event on this Monday, March 19th. While inside of the ICR, people were showing their revolt to Mr. Ungureanu and Ms. Suteu, director at ICR-NY, 3 guards and Ms. Oana Radu, program director was waiting for myself and my wife, Kiyoko at the entrance as previous event and they did not let us inside.
We argued with them and things got escalated, and in the meantime somebody called police and things get cooled down finally.
In these days, the community in New York started to move and they are showing their revolt about the policy and activities at ICR, too.
I started to consult American friends and intellectuals who are interested in Eastern Europe situation. The Americans consider that gang around of Mr.
Patapievici and himself have to go. They use the tax payer money to manipulate the public opinion in their political interests.

And also we want to remind you all that we have not received any answer from President of Romania, regarding to our letter to them about last incident.

Nu uita ca in sistemul actual al Diplomatiei - Ambasadorul - in baza scrisorilor de acreditare - reprezinta direct pe Presedintele Tarii.. iar Consulul General - Guvernul si Primul-Ministru...
