Prince Charles of Wales was to reach a mansion in Miclosoara, the district of Covasna, Romania, yesterday afternoon and stay there for two days.
Presidency Administration announced yesterday that His Royal Highness was paying a private visit to Romania. Yesterday he was to meet with the President of Romania Traian Basescu, as well as with the Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu. According to authorized sources, he was to talk to the Romanian officials about projects on the durable development of Transylvania.
Since with the late 90 Prince Charles has paid several visits to some Romanian counties, most of the visits being aimed at the restauration of Szeklar villages in Transylvania. The Prince has also encouraged the peasants there to rebuild their old households, showing great interest in Romania, a country he fell in love with.
The"Mihai Eminescu" Foundation he established in London is much involved in the preservation of the Romanian cultural heritage. Charles of Wales has recently bought himself a cottage in the village of Viscri and he visits the monasteries in Romania every year. The above-mentioned foundation bought an apple tree orchard of 100 hectares to start going a natural juice business, actually to make sure that the juice produced here reaches his residence in Britain.
