The NATO Summit scheduled for the spring of 2008 is going to take place in Bucharest, capital of Romania. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, the Alliance's general secretary, announced it in yesterday's press conference during the Oslo informal reunion of foreign ministers of NATO states.
The NATO official's announcement was preceded by controversial reports claiming that a decision on it would be postponed because of the evolution in Romanian politics.
The event is due in April 2-4, 2008, another EU official informed yesterday. (D.E.)
