Civic Media Association together with the Geopolitics Center in the University of Bucharest have arranged "Basarabia 88/66" Conference to take place on Monday, March 27, 2006. The event is due in the Faculty of Sociology, Bucharest. It is to celebrate 88 years since the unification of Basarabia to Romania. It also marks 66 years since the USSR Red Army occupied the Romanian province. Attendants are to look into issues such as the Moldovan Republic between the East and the West, Romania's relations with the Moldovan Republic within the Euro-Atlantic space, perspectives to join the EU and more.
